After the disappointment of going out of the Kent County Youth Cup to Guru Nanak FC last week, the boys were determined to stamp their mark on this game and strengthen their position at the top of the league.

A strong start by Crockenhill FC was rewarded with a goal as Jack Neal's long range effort was mis-read by the keeper, ending up in the back of the net.

Crockenhill FC worked very hard as a defensive unit and Guru Nanak FC were getting very little chance to get hold of the ball. Jack Neal and Owen Kabodi were especially strong in attacking the ball and it wasn't long before the lead was doubled. A clever interception and pass from Devran Mehmet who was performing very well at right back, put the ball into the feet of Luis Regis who cleverly flicked the ball into the path of Paul-Daniel Soussou to slot past the Guru Nanak FC keeper.

By now Crockenhill FC were fully in charge and a superb long range strike from Jack Neal which flew into the top corner, making the score 3-0. A break down the right hand side allowed Akin Obamakin the chance to cross but he struck the ball into the roof of the net to put the visitors 4-0 up.

Owen Kabodi had chances to increase the scoring further and an otherwise perfect first half was marred by an injury to Luis Regis who was taken to hospital with an injured rib.

Paul-Daniel Soussou worked very hard up on his own in the second half and Gary Beckett was outstanding at left back in a half which saw few chances for either side, though Paul-Daniel Soussou's run into the box was not rewarded with a penalty after being taken down by the last man.

Arguably the best performance from the team so far this season and extremely pleasing to earn a clean sheet after all the defensive focus on Tuesday night in training.
